JAMAICA · CARIBBEAN
Climb the falls, ride the coast, chase the sunset.
Waterfall climbs, catamaran cruises, river rafting and long beach days from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios to Negril. The best of Jamaica's coast, and the reggae country behind it.
Only in Jamaica
Three experiences the rest of the Caribbean can’t copy.
Every Caribbean island has beaches and boat trips. Only Jamaica lets you climb a waterfall straight into the sea, swim in a lagoon that lights up around you, and stand in the hills where reggae was born.
Ocho Rios
Climb Dunn’s River Falls
Six hundred feet of waterfall that pours straight down into the Caribbean, and you climb up it, not around it. Hand in hand in a human chain, up cool limestone the river has terraced over centuries, with the sea waiting at the bottom. No other falls on earth finish on a beach like this.

After dark, Falmouth
Swim the Luminous Lagoon
After dark the water at Glistening Waters turns electric blue wherever it is stirred. Tiny organisms light up at a touch, so every stroke leaves a glowing trail and the fish streak past like comets. It is one of only a handful of bioluminescent bays in the world, and the brightest of them all.

Nine Mile
Stand where reggae began
Reggae did not arrive in Jamaica, it was born here, up in the hills of Nine Mile where Bob Marley grew up and was laid to rest. Walk through the little house, sit on the rock he rested his head on, and hear the music in the place that made it. No other island can say that.

The north coast
Where the green hills meet the blue Caribbean.
Jamaica's north coast runs from Negril's cliffs in the west to Ocho Rios in the east, a ribbon of white-sand beaches, hidden coves and rivers that tumble out of the mountains straight into the sea. The whole island is barely bigger than a county, so you can wake up at a waterfall and watch the sunset from a different beach.

If you only book one thing, make it this.
More travellers book this than anything else on the island. A safe first yes, wherever on the coast you're staying.
The favourites
Jamaica's Most Popular Tours
Dunn's River Falls, the Blue Hole, catamaran cruises and bamboo rafting. The trips most travellers come to Jamaica for.
By region
Pick your part of the island.
Montego Bay for the beaches and the airport run. Ocho Rios for the waterfalls. Negril for the sunsets and Seven Mile Beach. The Blue Mountains for the coffee and the cool air.
By experience
Or pick the kind of day you're after.
Catamaran if you want the open sea. ATV if you want the hills. A bamboo raft if you want to slow right down. Waterfalls, snorkelling, river tubing, reggae and rum for the rest.
Plan your day
Adventure, water, or rhythm?
Jamaica gives you three very different kinds of day, and most people want one of each. Here's how they break down.
Montego Bay
Where the island begins.
Almost every Jamaica trip starts in Montego Bay. It is the island's busiest airport, the Hip Strip and its beaches, the catamaran piers, and the Luminous Lagoon just up the coast at Falmouth. Base here and the whole north coast is an easy day trip away.

The turquoise pools
Jamaica's hidden swimming holes.
Limestone pools in impossible shades of blue and green, rope swings into cool water, secret cascades back in the bush. If we could send you to just three, these are the ones.
Into the hills
Mud, hooves and horsepower.
Ride a horse bareback into the sea, throttle an ATV through a working plantation, kick up dust on the back roads above the coast. Three we’d put on any adventurer’s list.
When the sun goes down
Reggae, rum and the after-dark island.
Bob Marley's Nine Mile, a rum-distillery tasting, the glow of the Luminous Lagoon, a night out to a reggae beat. Our favourites for when the island slows down and the music starts.
Plan it
Three perfect days in Jamaica.
First time on the island? Three days that cover the waterfalls, the sea and the soul of Jamaica without a wasted morning.
First things first
Arriving by ship, or staying a week?
Jamaica welcomes more cruise passengers and all-inclusive guests than almost anywhere in the Caribbean. How you arrive shapes how you plan the days that follow.
